Hi Friend!
My name is Amanda and I am the extroverted-introvert behind the lens at Island Roots Photography - based in Victoria, British Columbia.
I am a mom of two littles and like so many before me, motherhood has humbled me in my inability to bottle up time and hit the pause button.
Fun fact about me: I might be one of the shortest Photographers on the island. I typically always carry a step ladder with me to every session to ensure I get a variety of angles though - don't worry, I got you!
There are so many things I love to document and one of my favourites is motherhood. As moms (and parents) we put ourselves on the back burner more often then not. That's why I want YOU to get in the photos! I want YOU to be present in the moments that make your kids laugh, to cuddle them while they allow it and to be there for it to be documented in tangible memories for years to come.

On the day of, I was a ball of nerves, but right from the very beginning Amanda started cracking jokes and totally put my husband and I at ease. You couldn’t ask for a better photographer- she is fun, easy going, goofy but professional, and has the ability to take all pressure off so you can just have fun and enjoy your session (even if you don’t think you will)!
