Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance should I book?
I recommend booking 2-3 months in advance if you are hoping to get a weekend golden hour session. If you are available on week nights 1-2 months in advance is best.
How far along in my pregnancy should I schedule my Maternity Session for?
I recommend between 28 to 34 weeks gestation, with 32 weeks being ideal. If you are further along that is okay!
When should I book my Newborn Session?
I only take a few New Born sessions each month as they aren't able to be schedule in advance and are time sensitive, so please book them approx 2 months in advance.
I can typically accommodate last minute New Born sessions if you have flexibility in your schedule as well, but please don't rely on this.
When is the best time to have Newborn photos done?
We aim to schedule your New Born session within the first 14 days after birth.
Will you share our photos on Social Media?
I don't share all sessions on social media. Social media can be overwhelming to maintain and I am often behind on sharing many sessions that I love.
Can we share our photos on Social Media?
Yes! Please do share your photos and I'd love it if you tagged me as this is honestly how my small business grows.I also love seeing which ones are your favourites as they are often different than my favourites from your session.
Do you offer Cake Smash Sessions?
I do not offer a session that is specific to a Cake Smash. If you would like to book a full session and incorporate a small cake smash at the end, I am happy to do that. I do not have nay Cake Smash props and these would need to be provided by you.
Do you do Event Photography?
At this time the only Event Photography I do is for Weddings.
How tall are you?
One of the most asked questions of my life. The answer isn't very tall but you'll just have to meet me to find out!
Do you shoot outdoor sessions at times other than sunrise and sunset?
Typically no. We can adjust the time by a few hours if we are selective of the location we pick, but I will be very honest with you and shooting mid day on a sunny day is just not something you actually want to do. You are hopefully hiring me because you like my style and in order to achieve that look, we need to shoot in the best lighting.
Believe me, I get it, stretching nap times, delaying bedtime and mixing up routines are risky, and if you are making this investment in your photos, we want to ensure we are setting ourselves up for the best results.
Will we get Sneak Peeks?
Yes! You will receive Sneak Peeks within 5 days of our session. They will be watermarked and can be made available for download upon request to be counted towards your final selections.
When will our full gallery be delivered?
Typically within 3-4 weeks, and this can fluctuate seasonally (a little longer in high season, and possibly shorter in the off season)
Will you help us plan our outfits?
Yes! All clients will be provided with my custom Session Style Guide. I will also help you along the way.
Are we required to sign a contract?
Yes. This is for your protection, just as much as it is mine. The contract is in line with industry standards.
Is there a fee due at the time of booking?
Yes. There is a non-refundable retainer that is due at the time of signing. The remainder is due the day of your scheduled session.
Do you have a Client Closet?
Yes! I have curated a client closet full of items for you to borrow for your session, including dresses, hats, toddler and baby items.
Do you offer Mini Sessions?
I do not offer one-off Mini Sessions. I do sometimes offer a day of Minis, typically only once per year in the fall for Winter Minis. I'll be honest with you as to why I don't offer these. - --
My biggest reason is you just can't get the experience I like to ensure all clients get when you only do a mini session. Secondly, I spend so much time behind the scenes whether your session is 15 minutes, 30 minutes or an hour, and I need to ensure I can continue to pour myself into your sessions while ensuring my cost of doing business is covered.
Do you travel for sessions?
I can but honestly in the season of life I am in, with two kids under the age of 4 years old, I need to be very selective about when and where I travel.
Travel rates are available upon request.
Do you accept Credit Cards?
Yes, there will be a 4% fee added to your invoice for Credit Card payments. If you would like to pay via credit card instead of e-transfer, please let me know at the time of booking.
